One Chapter is Not Included

This is a great textbook, but this version being sold does not have the Heteroscedasticity chapter (Chapter 10) and instead skips that chapter and has Chapter 10 as "Running Your Own Regression Project." Even though what I bought was the Sixth Edition, all the other copies of the Sixth Edition (other than the version being sold here) have Chapter 10 as Heteroscedasticity and Chapter 11 as Running Your Own Regression Project. There is no explanation for why this particular book does not have the heteroscedasticity chapter -- it's not just "missing," since there is a Chapter 10 and there are no skips in page numbers. The chapter was simply not included as part of the book DESPITE the fact that it's the same edition as other books with a heteroscedasticity chapter. This book overall is great and I was able to get my professor to make copies of the heteroscedasticity chapter for me. I'm glad I bought the cheaper version, but just know that there may be a missing chapter (and therefore, missing chapter questions that may be assigned for homework).

Using Econometrics review

I enjoyed the book. I've had just a couple of graduate level stats/forecasting classes and probably know just enough to be dangerous. This book was very straightforward and introduced me to a few regression topics that grad school missed and was a good refresher for things I'd learned but long-forgotten. If you're looking to improve your understanding of regression analysis and how its used but don't want to get into a Ph.D. level of explanation, I recommend this book.

Appears to be good - Not for me though

I am currently studying for the ARE (Architectural Registration Examination). I bought this book in hopes to have it help me learn new things with the book it goes with. However, the book does not come with answers and me being self taught, that is pretty much a must for me so that I have the ability to verify my solutions. If you were going to school and had an instructor that could rate your solutions, I am sure that this book would be great. That is why I give it four stars; I really can't complain about it only because it wasn't meant for me. I looked at a few of the questions and instantly realized that the problems were too basic for me, but that could be because I have been in the field of Architecture for about ten years now. If only I knew that it did not come with answers and that the problems were a little more advance, I would have been more happy. This book is more for a student.

We've finally grown out of this book at our house - but it took a long time. My soon-to-be 9 year old will occasionally (in secret)read this book now, but from age 3 to 6, it was a bed time favorite!
The story is funny, as are the illustrations of the little mouse, making a mess and asking for more things - and it all started by just giving the little fellow a cookie.
The hardcover book alone is a great gift item, but it's better yet as a mini book with the cute little stuffed mouse. If you add a small package of chocolate chip cookies, this would make an exceptional gift. Or, if not cookies, a crayon set with some paper is ideal (you have to read the story to understand why!)
For kids who want to read and listen, the audio tape will be listened to again and again. This is also one of those books that adults enjoy reading to their children!

If you share a book with your child........

.....you will have hours of fun ahead of you.
My favorite time of the day is when I take my kids to bed and read for them. We read different kinds of books, but each child always gets some special favorites. If you give a Mouse a Cookie is among 5 year old Marta's all time favorites. We can read the book over and over again, and the story is just as cute as when we first discovered it.
The story starts with a little boy eating cookies outside his house, he sees a mouse and wants to share his cookies with it. The mouse eats the cookie, then asks for a glass of milk, of course the boy gives him some milk, and the story goes on and on. The little mouse asking for more and more, the boy having a wonderful time following his new companion. From a napkin, to scissors to trim his hair, a broom to sweep up, and so on. And the wonderful, funny last page when the mouse asks for a glass of milk, but of course, if you give him a glass of milk the chances are that he will want a cookie to go with it, and we are right back to the start of the book. The most perfect story for a child who always wants repetitions, over and over again.
The book is beautifully written by Laure Joffe Numeroff, and the cute drawings to illustrate the story are made by Felicia Bond.

Cookie cookie cookie starts with C

"If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" really has been the "It" book for some time. Parents love this story, and their children really get into it as well. On and off, I'd heard various things about it, but nothing that so sparked my interest that I ran to my nearest library to peruse its pages. Now, however, I've grown old and wise in the ways of kiddie lit. and I found myself wanting to know what all the fuss was about. Was this book really as overwhelmingly fantastic as everyone said? Was I doomed to fall desperately in love with it like 98% of the population of known Western Civilization? The answer is a resounding yes yes yes. I had counted on finding some mild enjoyment with a fun story. Was I got was extreme enjoyment from a sly, understated, exceedingly clever story.
As we open, a small mouse treks down a hill on its own as a boy contentedly reads his comic book, munching on a bag of delicious chocolate chip cookies. After the boy offers the mouse a cookie (not knowing what such an action has wrought) the mouse asks for milk. Milk leads to a napkin. A napkin leads to a mirror (to check for a milk mustache, of course). A mirror leads to a hasty haircut. A haircut leads to sweeping up. And so on. All the while the boy gamely follows his rodent friend over, around, and through the different parts of the house, ever supplying the guest with whatsoever it may require. By the end, the house is in shambles, the boy exhausted on the floor (parents will relish this picture above all) and the mouse has just started in on a second cookie.
Some books expertly place kids in the position of their parents. In the picture book, "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus", kids are allowed to finally tell someone (the someone in that instance being a naughty pigeon) no. In this book, the kids are now the patient parents, forever cleaning up and amusing the endlessly enthusiastic and hepped-up mousey. The pictures are deceptively simple, drawn with pure pen and ink. Just the same, millions of tiny details are apparent in every shot. The boy's refrigerator displays (oddly) a newspaper clipping of a car crash. The mouse's drawing of his family displays some pretty original dresses on his mother and sister. And I'll leave up to your imagination the variety of odds n' ends surrounding the depleted boy at the end of the story. Suffice to say, ladies and gentlemen, this book has it all. And it's a delightful story to boot.

Very cute plot.

I really did enjoy this book, but there was some formatting issues that were a bit annoying. And I thought the price was a bit steep for such a short fast read. Aside from these minor quibbles, it still was a very fun read.

I will give reading this(sample) a try it sounds good but the price seems a bit much it shouldn't be more 3 maybe 4 dollars for a book with less than 200 pages. OK I've read the sample it's a little short so I didn't get to read enough to catch my interest to make me want to spend that much money on a book of less than 190! pages.

This was a nice treat of a Story! Although a little predictable but full of fun. It was a really entertaining story! I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys romance and a bit of fun!

One of the ten most important books on the Eastern Front in WWII: An exceptionally original and comprehensive military history.

This book is not just the only English-language book on its subject, but it stands comparison with the best English-language studies of any individual country's armed forces in WWII.

The book has ten chapters. Chapter 1 is a survey of Romania and its armed forces prior to the war. Chapters 2-6 each cover one annual campaign over 1941-45. Chapter 7 is on Romanian armour, Chapter 8 is on the Romanian aircraft industry, Chapter 9 is on Romanian air force operations and Chapter 10 is on Romanian naval operations.

The book is packed with unique research, maps, line drawings, charts, organigrams and photographs, virtually none of which are available elsewhere. There is also a most comprehensive index.

I hesitate to describe any WWII book as definitive or indispensable on its subject, but "Third Axis, Fourth Ally" comes as close as any. Indeed, I consider it one of the ten most important books on the Eastern Front in WWII, dealing, as it does, with the third most important participant and its armed forces.

For anyone interested in the military history of WWII, I recommend it most strongly.

Simply put, this is the best book in English for the Romanian Armed Forces in World War II. Anyone interested in the Eastern Front in WWII must have it.
