Looks good . I follow him on his blog He is very creative . I have not seen a book like his . He makes desserts for Paleo or Gluten free or Dairy free or all of them together . What I like he uses simple foods and and simple recipes .

Each recipe is easy to follow

This is one of the few cookbooks I own where every recipe is something I would eat (I am quite picky). Each recipe is easy to follow, doesn't have to hard to find ingredients (like many specialized cookbooks), and gives you extra instruction on options and how-tos. I really hope the author comes out with a book of regular lunch/dinner recipes soon!!

Devon set down his book and unfurled himself from the couch. He approached her slowly, watching the panic in her already wild gaze grow.

She visibly swallowed and reached for the handle behind her.

“I hate repeating myself.” He stopped just in front of her, placing a hand on the door above each side of her head, ensuring she couldn’t escape the room just yet. “Are you lost?”

She smelled amazing. Some sort of light and delicate perfume that only made him want to discover each little erogenous spot she’d dabbed it.

“Uh...yes.”

So she was going to run with that lame excuse, was she? He gave her a brief, cold smile that let her know he didn’t believe her for a moment.

“Aren’t you enjoying yourself, Renee?” His tone mocked, and clearly she didn’t like it.

She tilted her chin up, giving him a derisive look. “I’m enjoying myself very much, thanks. If you’ll excuse me, I’ll try and find my way back to the party.”

He made no move to step back. Instead he ran a hand over her bare shoulder and then up her neck. When his hand closed lightly around her throat, she grasped his wrist, her eyes going wide.

“Easy, Renee. I’m not going to hurt you,” he assured her, lowering his hand down to her collarbone, then over the swell of her breasts. “I’m simply checking to see if you’ve been marked yet.”

“Marked?” she croaked.

“Bite marks, bruises from sucking,” he gave a casual shrug, “or maybe welts from a whipping.”

Are you looking for a hot, sexy, alpha dominated read with a unique plot-line? If so, then look no further than Taken by the Pirate Billionaire by Shelli Stevens. This book flows at a quick pace from beginning to end and the two main characters are likable, slightly devious and share a history that is like no other.

The story is about Renee, owner of a doggie daycare and Devon, a billionaire that found his success through social media. They meet at Devon's annual exclusive sex party. Renee is crashing the soiree in order to locate a centuries old brooch that belonged to one of her ancestors. Renee believes that Devon has it hidden somewhere in his extremely old mansion. Devon happens to be a descendant from the pirates and hundreds of years ago, his ancestor was involved with Renee's relative. Devon realizes she is a party crasher, but allows her to stay because he is drawn to her and not just in a physical way.

Renee and Devon are hot and their sexual chemistry is off the charts. I loved the way their relationship developed into something more, through possessiveness, friendship and ancestral history. This is the second book I have read by Ms. Stevens and it certainly won't be the last.

I absolutely adored this story. I am a fan of Shelli's books and was not disappointed at all by Taken By The Pirate Billionaire.

Renee is in desperate need of a lot of money, quickly. Devon is the descendant of a famous pirate that allegedly stole a valuable piece of jewelry from Renee's ancestor. Renee deciders to do the only thing she can think of.... break into Devon's house during one of his famous parties and steal the piece.

Little did Renee realize the type of party that is held at Devon's house!!

This story has a BDSM tilt but nothing to wild that it can't be enjoyed by everyone and a fantastic HEA. It did also have me laughing hysterically numerous times. I highly recommend Taken By The Pirate Billionaire

Wow! This was great! I read this in one afternoon and couldn't put it down. It gave me several belly laughs and some super hot sex scenes.

I absolutely love Shelli's heroines and this was no exception. I loved Renee's spunk and sassiness. I have also enjoyed the A is for Alpha series. Shelli's Alpha's are great! She is able to write a sexy Alpha without him being a jerk (which is very important to me). Devon is hot and dominate but not over the top.

This story had it all - hot sex, a little BDSM, some mystery, and some great characters. And of course a great HEA. I highly recommend Taken by the Pirate Billionaire.

The author's sympathies are clearly with the Dalai Lama and his decisions. Chinese justifications for annexing Tibet are presented, but easily explained away. The Dalai Lama's accomplishments in maintaining and promoting Tibetan culture in exiled Tibetan communities around the world are praised. A great biography about the Dali Lhama and Tibet. It is easy to read and very instresting. A good amount of vocabulary for 7-10 year olds. Whitney Stewart makes it much easier to understand about the Dali Lhama and what is happening in Tibet. END

Fascinating interview-based biography

I've read several of Whitney Stewart's bios, and come to realize she is a highly conscientious biographer who bases her bios on iterviews with her subjects. Few biographers for children bother with interviews; most glean highlights about theis subjects' lives from secondary materials.
In contrst, Stewart interviews her subjects. She interviewed the dalai lama for this book and it shows in the quality and quantity of details she presents. For example, she mentions a heartbreaking childhood memory of the dalai lama's: When he was a child, a poor couple passed their house with a dead child. The Dalai Lama's mother offered to help them bury the child, but they were so desperately hungry that--well, you can guess what they were intending, in their desperation. Instead, the dalai lama's family fed and helped them.
That's the kind of detail a biographer doesn't come up with easily--not unless they have their subject before them, telling them their first hand story.
I am an adult reader, and feel the book, like all her bios, are appropriate for both kids and adults. Bravo!

The Persian king seeks refuge in Hulwan, leaving behind most of his riches, which are catalogued in great detail. In the same year the Muslim army deals the withdrawing Persians another crushing blow at the battle of Jalula'.

This volume is important in that it describes how the newly conquered territories are at first administered. As the climate of al-Mada'in is felt to be unwholesome, a new city is planned on the Tigris. This is al-Kufah, which is destined to play an important role as the capital city of the fourth caliph, 'Ali. The planning of al-Kufah is set forth in considerable detail, as is the building of its main features--the citadel and the great congregational mosque.

After this interlude there follow accounts of the conquests of a string of towns in northern Mesopotamia, which bring the Muslim fighters near the border with al-Jazirah. That region is conquered in 17/638. The history of its conquest is preceded by an account of the Byzantines' siege of the city of Hims. Also in this year, 'Umar is recorded to have made a journey to Syria, from which he is driven back by a sudden outbreak of the plague, the so-called Plague of 'Amawas.

The scene then shifts back to southwestern Iran, where a number of cities are taken one after another. The Persian general al-Hurmuzan is captured and sent to Medina. After this, the conquest of Egypt--said to have taken place in 20/641--is recorded.

The volume concludes with a lengthy account of the crucial battle at Nihawand of 21/642. Here the Persians receive a blow that breaks their resistance definitively.

This volume abounds in sometimes very amusing anecdotes of man-to-man battles, acts of heroism, and bizarre, at times even miraculous events. The narrative style is fast-moving, and the recurrence of similar motifs in the historical expose lends them authenticity. Many of the stories in this volume may have begun as yarns spun around campfires. It is not difficult to visualize an early Islamic storyteller regaling his audience with accounts that ultimately found their way to the file on conquest history collected by Sayf b. 'Umar, al-Tabari's main authority for this volume.
