I have found much food for thought in Watchman Nee's writings.
As this question was asked by one of Jesus' disciples there is deeper meaning than just the surface thought of jealousy or envy.
The point is, "What can I and should I, "Do"?"

loved this book and have reread it and shared it!

Watchman Nee has some amazing books for serious disciples of Jesus. This was my favorite book of his that I have read and I have recommended it to friends and reread it myself. It was recommended by Frank Viola as one of his top five books he had read, excluding the Bible of course. I order all my books from Amazon as they have such great service.

A book straight from the spirit and the heart

Over the years I have probably read this book a few times but I have referred to it many times because of the enlivening and enlightening principles it contains. It is not a book of systematic ways or mere logic as the"Preface" makes clear.
This book sheds light on the matter of the NT ministry--a subject regarding which there is an abundance of confusion but a subject about which many believers are concerned because of their desire to be well pleasing to the Lord
(2Corinthians 5:9). Having a NT understanding of "ministry" and "ministers" clears away a lot of fog (Acts 1:17). Take chaps. 8 & 9, Building in Love & Ministering Life--the NT ministry is uniquely one because there is only one Body of Christ but because there are many members that means there are many ministries. My physical body is just one but there are many members and have many services or functions; my eyes do nothing but see, my ears only hear, my legs carry me where I need to go. All this in amazing harmony.

Perfect introduction to Greek urbanism

This is a wonderful book which describes the way Ancient Greeks planned and built their cities, fortresses, harbours, etc. It explains the cultural roots of Greek architecture and the importance of the public buildings, especially the agora. The drawings and plans (there are plenty of them) are excellent and the bibliography is a good guide if you want to know more about the subject.

About the Author

John Kuriyan is Professor of Molecular and Cell Biology and of Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley. He began his career at Rockefeller University, New York and has been an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute since 1990. His laboratory uses x-ray crystallography to determine the three-dimensional structures of proteins involved in signaling and replication, as well as biochemical, biophysical, and computational analyses to elucidate mechanisms. Kuriyan was elected to the US National Academy of Sciences in 2001.

Boyana Konforti is the launch Editor of Cell Reports, an open-access journal focused on short papers in biology. Konforti earned her PhD at Stanford University in the Biochemistry Department with Ronald W. Davis studying the mechanism of DNA recombination. Her postdoctoral studies at Rockefeller University with Magda Konarska and Columbia University with Anna Pyle were on the mechanisms of RNA splicing. Konforti has been a professional editor for over 13 years; most recently she was Chief Editor of Nature Structural & Molecular Biology.

David Wemmer is Professor of Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley and has served as Vice Chair, Assistant Dean, and Executive Associate Dean since joining the faculty in 1985. His research in structural biology uses magnetic resonance methods to investigate the structure of proteins and DNA toward a better understanding of how these molecules function. Systems studied include DNA-ligand complexes, covalent DNA adducts, protein-DNA complexes, and diverse proteins involved in cellular regulatory processes. Wemmer is a Fellow of the AAAS and a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Xi.

Excellent book - conceptual approach

This is an excellent book. Includes quantitative problems and explanations, but the approach is highly conceptual. Writing is clear and easy to read, at least, for a science text. I dropped the class because my schedule was too full, but am keeping the book as a resource.

This book is well-written and well-organized with plenty of helpful examples, graphs and figures. It's a little equation-heavy, yet it still manages to keep the reader's focus on point.

Not all professors dislike this book!

Reader and Gardner didn't like the book; well, to each their own. As a professor, I _do_ use this as a class text.

R&G is right; the explanation on p161 for the beta-alpha-beta being (almost) always right-handed is "no convincing explanation" - while I have always thought it was to do with the natural twist of the beta-strands making the "overhand" - right-handed connection shorter, and thus more favoured. But this surely is a matter about which one could disagree: maybe the authors are right, and there is indeed no "convincing" explanation.

I haven't used it for the basic structural matters, which can be found in books like Petsko&Ringe or Branden&Tooze. However, as an introduction to a statistical thermodynamics way of approaching structure, I think it is excellent. It may be that the Dill&Bromberg "Molecular Driving Forces" would be good too; I have it on my shelf, but it is almost certainly too much for my students and for the time I have.

If you can't make it to Broadway...

After falling in love with "The Book of Mormon" soundtrack I wanted to know more about the story and since I can't exactly afford a trip to NYC to see the show (not that i could get a ticket) the book was the next best thing.

The book in includes a forward by Mark Harris, authors notes from each of the three authors, production history, a list of scenes and song titles and, finally, the complete script with song lyrics. The pages are nice and glossy with colorful accents and small photos from production throughout the script.

The script itself is brilliant. I think the review from Hollywood Reporter by David Rooney says it best:

"The show manages to have a comic field day with Mormonism while simultaneously acknowledging - maybe even respecting - the right of everyone to follow any faith they choose. Or invent."

I can't recommend this enough, if you like the soundtrack, or are curious to see what all the fuss is about and can't see the show itself this book is the perfect way to experience and enjoy "The Book of Mormon".

The PERFECT companion to the Cast Recording

If you love The Book of Mormon, this is definitely a book you need to pick up. It's the complete libretto along with pictures of the cast and even close up shots of some of the fun props and costumes used in the production. The actual book of the show is hilarious and has a lot more heart than what you get from the CD. Hands down the Best Musical Libretto I've seen for sale in a good long while.

Best script I have read of a musical in YEARS!

I was not expecting how amazing the quality of the writting would be from a Trey Parker and Matt Stone musical. Wow....the lyrics are so clever and the writing is nothing short of fantastic. I just bought tickets to go see this show in October cause they are sold out for MONTHS!!!! If you want a taste of this musical, get a copy of this script and soundtrack and enjoy!

Brow-beating at its best!

I was highly anticipating the reading of this book by Brother Nero as a treat to the traditional standards and practices of Satanism. What I received was a lesson in brow beating. While Brother Nero is adamant that modern Satanists take Satanism so seriously as to form relationships with the Dark Father and his minions, he also pontificates that he is perpetually neglected, persecuted, other Satanists are lacking in true Satanic Faith, wishes to annihilate God via worship attrition, all Satanists are egotistical, wondering why all other people don't question themselves whether they are right or wrong yet in the same token believing all the while he is always right, "And I'm going to preach what I believe is the truth."

Reading between the lines however, some light does shine through on his particular brand of Satanism that stands out amongst other Satanic practices. While LaVeyan and Ford practices are symbolic and anthropocentric affording that no one bows before anyone or anything else in reverence, Brother Nero advocates the physical practice of worshiping Satan as the sole deity and seeing Him as the Greater power than our own which leads one to believe that Brother Nero advocates humility indicative of traditional Christian/Judaic/Islamic traditions. He believes that Satan and his demons are flesh and blood and should be respected as one would respect oneself and in doing, the same will be returned (The Law of Return -reciprocation-) indicative of the Golden Rule (do unto others as you would have them do unto you). His anthropomorphic views on Satan, the demons and yes even God -who is also egotistical and narcissistic- lead one to see into the mind of our Satanic Brother Nero.

All-in-all, only having read just a portion of Brother Nero's work, which is partly a lesson in humility in itself and an eye-opener to alternative possibilities on the worship of the Demonic forces that permeate our everyday lives, leaves me to believe that Brother Nero, while still immature in conversation and argument, has the greatest potential to become an astute strategist in arming his disciples with the mental fortitude and aptitude necessary to become great apostles of the adversary.

I look forward to finishing the reading of Satanism: A Beginner's Guide to the Religious Worship of Satan and Demons Volume 1: Philosophy and future works from Brother Nero as well.

Anything worth doing is worth perfecting.

very good for beginners

I would like to say this is one of the few books that touches on traditional/theistic Satanism. Their are many books out their on modern Satanism, which makes it hard to find a book that is true in regards to devil worshipping. This book includes all of the basics that any beginner Satanist should know. It is well written.

I gave it 4 stars because:
Pros:
Contains no fluff or extras, you get what you buy
Touches on very important issues: such as sacrifice, prayer, family, and what a Satanist is
Contains commentary on the Al-Jilwah
Good arguments with no loopholes
Written to be easily understood by anyone

Cons:
Lacked a bit in the history of Satanism. Did not talk too much about the origins of Satan, other than from the bible. Should have mentioned some of the ancient religions such as the Sumerians, where IMO Satan originated
Did not talk too much about any of the Satanic holidays and did not go into too much detail of any pagan lore and its influences on Traditional Satanism
Did not cover much on Meditation and Magick

Overall a good read. For a beginner the Cons would not be too important, but someone more advanced may find this book a little too basic.

In closing- If your new to Satanism or interested this is a must buy. If your an experienced Satanist this book wouldn't be a bad purchase, but not required.

This and That

This book was ok, but I found it to have a lot of unrealistic expectations as far as how a Satanist should go about in society and within their daily lives. How this author lacks the open mind of the fact that every path is very unique, and to state in their written works that if one doesn't follow their certain "expectations" then they aren't a Satanist IMO is asinine. Other than that and a few other things this book would be helpful to a novice, but it wouldn't be one of my first choices for reference.

This book is an outstanding overview of the life and thoughts of Karl Marx. The editor masterfully weaves together Marx's published works and private letters into a rich tapestry of history and ideas.
In addition to what you might expect to find in a collection like this (the text of The Communist Manifesto, selections from Das Kapital...), there are also tidbits from Marx's hand that help you truly understand the man and the history of his ideology, from his predictions on the fates of France and Russia, even down to his favorite color (red, of course) and his old report cards.
No serious student of economic and political philosophy should be without an understanding of Karl Marx. This book provides it like no other.
